Let’s see….Miralax, Gatorade, apple juice, chicken broth, and lots of banana-flavored popsicles. Hmm…sounds like somebody got an appointment for a colonoscopy! That’s next month, so you’ll excuse me if I have a crappy outlook that day. (Actually, the day before. You sleep through the colonoscopy, that’s the easy part.) One of the things I got with my security system was a Google speaker. Hey, I like that! “Hey, Google, play my Jimmy Buffett playlist.” And it does while I’m watching the sun set in Key West. Tomorrow is our first “real” Juneteenth holiday. I thought it was kind of dopey to sign a bill into law and make it effective “immediately,” somewhere in the neighborhood of 12 hours before the day. Oh, well. I didn’t vote for him, but he is my president because I am an American 24/7/365, not “only” when someone I voted for is in the White House. It looks like another long night of bad weather in the south. I was watching the storm coverage out of Tulsa, Oklahoma last night. Tornadoes are terrible, no question; however, they are relatively small (even a mile-wide tornado is small in comparison to a city that’s 230 square miles wide). A wind event like the 100 MPH winds that went through Tulsa last night hit EVERYTHING and EVERYWHERE. Now they’re facing “weeks” before everything is restored…just as a heat wave is forecast for the area. We have a myLotter there and I sure hope and pray she’s okay in all of this. I have an appointment Tuesday, then I might leave town for a couple of days to clear my sinuses up. Amid my countdowns about songs that are 40, 50, and 60 years old, here’s something that’ll make you feel like grabbing the Geritol. Today (June 18) is Sir Paul McCartney’s 81st birthday. Happy birthday, Sir Paul, and many more! My bumper sticker (pictured) is from the Loveless Cafe in Nashville. They’re famous for some good food and quirky things like this. And maybe we should all visualize Minnie Pearl…it’ll put a smile on our faces if we do! (Thanks to @xander6464 for mentioning her earlier today.) Y’all have a great evening, morning, and week! Here’s one of my favorite songs from birthday boy Paul McCartney, from Wings’1975 album Venus and Mars:

I did enjoy my Father's Day at home working on surveys as well as sharing good news on this site. Sir Paul McCartney is one of my favorite artists of all time.

@xander6464 I do remember the story where Paul may have passed away in an auto accident on the songs from the Sgt. Pepper album.

If you go out of town soon, make sure to paint the town red for me.

There’s a great line in a song… “I’ll paint the town tonight What color would you like?”

Colonoscopy, what a BAD word, at least you sleep while this is done. Sir Paul McCartney's is no more a young boy and my husband is not very far behind his age. Aging is not a lot of fun.

Colonoscopy is much better than the other “C word” (cancer). Yeah, Paul isn’t the cute anything anymore.

@LadyDuck — probably not. I’ll tell you something funny: the guy who is credited with popularizing that rumor is Fred LeBour, who at the time was a journalism major at the University of Michigan. He is now better known as “Too Slim” of Riders in the Sky. (In the photo with the video he’s on the right in the fur chaps.)

Juneteenth has been a thing in NJ for a few years. Our school year was supposed to end on this Tuesday after a 3 day weekend due to having Monday off for Juneteenth. The Superintendent and BOE came to their senses and realized that no one was going to return on a Tuesday for 1 more day after a 3 day weekend. There wouldn't have been enough attendees to even make the day count. He turned the day off for students/Professional day for staff on Columbus Day in October to a full day of school. That allowed us to be done on Friday. Of course it was still a gamble since we had no snow days built in. We were lucky to have no snow this winter. So I finished day 2 of summer vacation today. I already have tan lines!

What do you mean “already”? You’re sneaking out of school and going to the tanning salon every post!

@FourWalls Last time my ex was around and saw me *ahem* he was like "you have strange tan lines". I was like "think of laying down somewhere". He's lucky he even got to see those tan lines. haha

Colonoscopies... where the prep is worse than the procedure. Sir Paul is 81 wow! That has to bum Ringo out. He's even older! But they look very good for their age I think. Many of our 60s musicians who are still around will be hitting that 80 mark with each passing year.

Yeah, I’ll be sick of chicken soup and banana popsicles after a couple of hours, and won’t care for them for five years. We lost two bluegrass musicians last week who were both out there performing in their 90s. I’m glad Sir Paul and Sir Ringo are still out there doing what they love.

You are lucky if they put you out for your colonoscopy. All of mine were with very light anesthesia. I felt every little thing. Now I do Cologuard. Sir Paul is 81; and my hubs will be 82 in August. Time flies.
