I usually buy arabica or robusta coffee beans, but found this unique type of coffee bean this time. It's called peaberry and looks a little different
Peaberry coffee beans develop differently from the usual coffee beans. Usually, coffee cherries contain two seeds, that flatten against each other while growing inside the fruit. However, in some coffee cherries apparently, only one of the seeds is fertilized, resulting in a single, rounded bean and these are called peaberry.
I couldn't notice a drastic change in the taste, but they do look unique.
