Naps are good

Since I am an early riser I always take a short nap after my lunch. It is not more then 15 minutes. Doctors suggest that the naps should be short and not later than 3 pm as they will interfere with the night sleep Ofcourse office goers are deprived of this opportunity but I remember one colleague did that and we had to wake her up - she was wise indeed as the recommended nap is around 15 minutes and our lunch break was for an hour Do you nap or do you get time to nap?

I find I don't really need to.

I am not sure if it is need based but a health requirement

@allknowing Well, forcing sleep when you don't really need it, isn't good either. If you do, then you can create other health problems. So while naps can be recommended, if you're wide awake and full of energy, then don't force it.

@kaylachan That happened to me while I was a kid Mom would ask us all to nap with her and the moment she closed her eyes we would get up and do what we liked to do (lol)

I think I have napped once in the last two months, but I would love to be able to get one. Napping was easy for me when I was younger, but not now.

What stops you from napping now As for me I never napped in my young days

@allknowing Just too much pain. My dad's wife takes naps that last two hours! I told my dad that's not healthy when she already sleeps seven hours a night. This isn't an occasional thing either; every day she has a two hour nap. I read an article that said doctors found people who took two hour or longer naps had a higher risk of Alzheimer's Disease. My dad's naps are fifteen minutes.

@AmbiePam My heart goes out for you thinking about the pain you have to go through every single day Wish there was magic wand somewhere to get rid of it Fear of Alzheimer's could be the reason why doctors recommend just around 15 minutes. Mine last just that much.

Some sleep more than what is normally recommended. That is bad in the long run
