Yet another that likes rain

We have a nutmeg tree and we see them dropping ready to be picked up and this happens only in the rainy season. The fruits open and then drop exposing the mace and the nutmeg The outer cover is not used but some make jam out of it We need to pick them up quickly as the water will destroy the mace. Both the nutmeg and mace have a good price but much of the mace gets destroyed because of the rain. We keep them near the gas range for them to dry up and then keep both the mace and the nutmegs in the fridge. Once the rain stops we will dry them in the sun before they are sold. Both mace and nutmeg have great uses. We use them both for flavouring puddings and cakes. They also have health benefits. I just went out and I see loads on the ground - am off to pick them . See you later. Have a nice day

I had not seen them in that form before. I just use the nutmeg in the little container that you shake.

I love nutmeg. In bengali it is called jaifal and jaitri. It adds taste in fried rice and biriyani

You have a lovely garden full of fruits, flowers and spices. Where do you sell them? In the market or some vendor comes and buys them?
