It can be a bit of an adjustment for all involved, depending on the person.

@kaylachan My dad estimates he can retire at 73, and I don't see that going well. Are you glad to have him home more? You really seem to.

@AmbiePam At first, I had some anxiety concerning it. But, in reality, it's not that bad. He's relaxed, happier, loves doing what he wants when he wants. He's always been my best friend, but he's a lot less stressed. I am going to tell you, what I told him. Whether this helps your dad or not I don't know. But, there's no set time to retire. A person can't truly retire until they reach that place in their lives where they're ready to let go and stop caring about their job. Until they're really ready to walk away. That's when you can retire with confidence.
