and this photo is fairly close to depicting my Wednesday. *Stops to check that this is Wednesday*
Vacuuming, or hoovering for my British friends, was my chore for today. Sophie always helps by herding the vacuum around the floor with barks. It is quite funny to watch.
I also updated my LinkedIn profile today. I haven't touched it in years. The site now has a category for "Creatives," and I joined that as well as noted my full-time status as a writer/publisher/publicist/marketer for River Sailor Literary.
We are under an Air Quality Alert here in North Carolina, but it's the folks in Illinois, Ohio, Michigan, and the other states between here and there I'm worried about. I hope y'all are staying out of the smoke.
If you're in the path of the smoke, how bad is it? Have you been able to venture out?

In Ohio here. It has looked very hazy all day. We have stayed mostly in. I fed the outside cats and hubby got the mail. I do need to water plants later. It is looking a little better than it did this morning

From the radar imagery I've seen, the folks around the Chicago/Detroit area and, indeed, all the Great Lakes are being inundated with the smoke. I'm concerned AC filters will start to clog from the particulates and people will be stuck indoors with no way to filter their air.

I am very sorry that the smoke has floated so far away and is affecting you and so many other people who are our dear neighbours to the south.
One of our 16-month granddaughters hates the sound or even the sight of the vacuum cleaner.
If the door to the laundry room is open, where they store the vacuum, she will point to it and shake her head no.
She doesn't know enough words to say hide that scary thing!

@JudyEv K took Sophie to visit a woman who competes in herding and trains dogs to herd. Sophie had a strong herding instinct and, within a short while, was herding a small group of 4 sheep around a large enclosed field. She would make a good herding dog, but we haven't the time or resources for the training.

Yesterday the smoke was really thick here. Hubs had a little bit of trouble breathing. Would love to see Sophie chasing the vacuum. I sent my picture book into an agent yesterday. I doubt she will accept it; but I can always hope. Have a good day.

Our air quality in Missouri is listed as "poor" today but it's because of tree pollen, ragweed pollen, grass pollen, mold, dust and pet dander in the air. The phone app suggests I stay inside today, which I've done.
Hope the fires get put out soon.

I love Corgi's, and have had several. They are so very smart! I hope to own another one sometime.
Yes, here in central IL. the smoke has been terrible. When we got hit with it about a month ago, it was bad, but not like this. I was told by a nurse friend that both of our hospital ER's, as well as all the convenient care places, were full and extremely busy with people having breathing problems yesterday and today. Wearing a mask did help, so I wore one when I had to go out. I hope you do not get hit with this, it's miserable.
