Good morning

My brain and body decided sleeping was not a good choice last night.
My eventual remedy was to get up and eat a big bowl of cold cereal and take a Benadryl for the sneezing and coughing. I suspect it is from the air conditioning. I need to vacuum it and see if that helps.
If you cannot sleep, what do you do?
Part of my problem, I am sure, is the nice nap I took in my desk chair in the middle of the afternoon.
We were actually in bed, with lights out before 10 p.m., but I kept thinking things like "did I turn such and such off" and "did I make sure the refrigerator door was fully shut"? I got up for each of those things and it woke me up.
I will likely take a nap later.
Tomorrow Bob and I are going to have a day out. Yay!!

This was less than an hour, sitting upright in the chair. I may have been excited about the last day of summer school.

That would really wake me up. I do sometimes wake up with music running through my brain though.

Next discussion explains we are postponing it a day. We will have a good time being at home tomorrow, though. When I could not sleep when my first husband was ill I would turn on the weather channel, make a cup of cocoa and kick back in the recliner.

We had poor air quality due to pollen from trees and ragweed, mold, dust and pet dander... All of those cause me to have allergic reactions and I had to resort to Benadryl yesterday. (You aren't that far from us so I'm sure you had the same problems with your air, too.)
We changed out the filter for the air conditioning last night, hoping that would filter out more of the air pollutants.
I hope you feel better today.

I actually was surprised I did as well as I did. So far I have not needed a nap. Yes, the last few nights I start coughing. This has been a rough spring.

@GardenGerty I woke up for the day about 45 minutes ago. I'm not having allergy problems right now. Keeping the house closed up does seem to be helping.
Yes, I agree... Too much crap in the air and too hot. I hope the Summer doesn't continue like this.

Looking at the weather forecast, we are moving it to Saturday, because it will be about fifteen to 20 degrees cooler.

If I can't sleep, I'll often get, make myself a cup of tea, and go on the internet.
Last night, I kept waking up every hour or so but soon went back to sleep.

I was up for an hour and a half. I did get online and do some stuff. Not anything I had to be sharp for though,.

My brain used to do that to me all the time so I started watching tv while I was in bed and now I don't have those brain misfunctions .... ok, not as often
I'm glad you've got something to look forward to, I hope you'll both have fun.

I think it happens a lot more than we realize, or that the experts admit. Maybe we are supposed to wake up some at night.

I usually put on some music when I can't sleep with the hopes that it will put me back into the sleeping mode. Otherwise I get up and read or watch tv. I hate nights when I have interrupted sleep.
Hope you get that nap later on.

If I did not have to be a reasonable adult and get things done, it really would not bother me.
