A bit about the flora

Gardening has been a passion with me but to an extent it is still a mystery specially when it comes to the behaviour of flowers and fruits.
Just when I think I have provided the right kind of climate, right amount of fertilizer, soil et all I do not see results and yet on the other hand there are some that just yield with a vengeance. And same is with the fruits.
Some like the sun, some the shade. Different varieties require difference kinds of soil some just will not grow if it is not sandy. There is no limit to the different conditions that flowers and fruits demand We have problems with those loving winter as we hardly have what can be called winter - example dahlias.
Can you throw some light from your gardening experience?

I can't grow large plants that want it warm.

Nature is fair it looks to me While you are enjoying your dahlias I enjoy the Alamanda that you see in the photo (lol)

@allknowing But you could put the bulbs in a cold area for a few months and then plant them. Large plants won't fit in the house

I want to garden as well but sadly haven't had the chance since I do not have he space and time for it.

Even a balcony is good enough and if you are interested you will always make time I always said I had no time for stitching but the fact was I just hated it (lol)

different parts of the US are the same. Some people do not get enough cold weather, some get cold too soon. So we have to plant what is adaptable to where we are.

We cannot provide the perfect atmosphere and each flower will have its own demand
