Wow! This must be the longest title l have posted of late - do you favor long or short titles?
Anyway, on to the topic which is about passion, age and retirement.
First up is movie legend Clint Eastwood who at age 93 is embarking on directing duties on his 40th film ( as a Director) , this one is called "Juror # 2." You may recall some of his others which include: " Million Dollar Baby" and "Unforgiven".
Some believe that this latest will be his last before 'hanging up his hat' - but who knows? He may go for number 41.
Next up is 100- year -old Neurologist Dr. Howard Tucker who retired just two years ago ( he is still a consultant). He believes that "retirement is the enemy of longevity". And that when someone loves their job with a passion and delays retirement, it helps that person to stay young.
He has been practicing medicine since 1947 and is listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the oldest practicing doctor.
What do you plan to do when you retire? Are you one of those persons who believe that retirement is the beginning of the end or the start of new and exciting horizons.?
Pictured above is Dr Howard Tucker.

I do think it's best to still keep busy after one retires. It's nice that one can stop "working" and be relieved from the stresses attached to it, but it's better to keep active mentally, physically, socially, etc - whatever those activities may be.

I am an absolute fan of Clint Eastwood, not only because of his accomplishments but because he is still there. I didn´t know about Dr. Tucker but he is to be admired.

@Kandae11 I loved those western movies he made so many years ago! But Million dollar baby is a masterpiece. I have seen it several times. I also loved Grand Torino.

I am a retired person now you may say as I am without work. Lucky are those people who keep working and earning until the end of their lives.

It is a good sign that they love their jobs so much they don’t want to retire. I am disabled, so my last job ended years ago. My dad plans to retire in five years when he is 73, but I honestly don’t think he’ll be able to retire because he’ll get too bored.

I don't think it has to be work. I think having a passion is important in retirement though for longevity purposes. It doesn't really matter what it is but something that has you involved is important.

I admire these people who reach that old age. I hope I can still be busy in my old age

I'm retired and I think I'm busier now than when I worked. That probably isn't entirely true but it feels like it. I'm constantly asking myself how I got so much done when I was working but probably I just had better time management.
That's pretty amazing that Dr. Tucker is still consulting at 100 yeas old. Bless him and Clint Eastwood that they are still able to do all that they are doing at their ages.

I've seen people retire and they're like what do I do now! Even if you retire it's still best to be productive and they are well needed in helping the community. Kids, church. Food give aways and more. Great that he's still doing what he loves to do.

Clint Eastwood is still directing? It's great that he is still going so strong. I know William Shatner, who is 92 now, went into space in 2021 on a rocket of Jeff Bezo's, I was so happy for him and it really made me feel great about aging. Age is only numbers.

. . . how boring that would be even if you were taken care of hand and foot!
