Fourth of July Fireworks

Yesterday, Jay went to spend some time with Larry(our friend). Larry's wife Jan, had a stoke last month. Later in the evening, we met back at the rental house.
My husband asked if I'd like to take a drive to watch the Bay City fireworks. It was already 9:00P, so I was hesitant.
Then, I decided what ta heck! 'Sure, let's go see their 4th of July fireworks!" They were amazing and not one bit a disappointment.
We had to leave about three minutes early, because it started to rain. This didn't really matter. Because we avoided the big traffic jam that happens every year, after the fireworks are over.
Jay had parked about 1 1/2 block over, so we ran like rabbits to keep from getting wet.
Bay City's fireworks were displayed 3 nights, June 29, June 30th and July 1.
We got back home just before midnight and both of us were tired, of course.

The noise was awful, which I don't enjoy. A couple years, we watched the Saginaw and Flint, Michigan fireworks on television!

@kobesbuddy Some years, we have watched the fireworks show that accompanies the 4th of July concert by the Boston Pops at the Hatshell on TV. It's always a good show.

We used to have some very nice fireworks here. Not much anymore. I watch them all over the world online. I heard some the last two nights. People close by always seem to have some they have to set off after the 4th. Those are startling.

@kobesbuddy I don't know if we're going to see the fireworks or not. The kids like them, but they hate the noise. I find the whole ordeal pretty exhausting and would rather stay home. We'll see. There's a few places in the area that are planning to have free fireworks shows, so it depends on whether or not someone is willing to stake out a spot.

One year I was driving down the highway, near the 4th. Off to my right, there were lovely fireworks covering the sky! Of course, I didn't stop but kept on driving.
