They heard me coming

This image is of the goldfish in the fish pond at the park. They heard me on the walk that leads across the bridge to the man made island. People often throw food to these fish and so if they "hear" or "feel" footsteps they come over by the bridge to beg. There were a lot of them. I have not been to this park in a long time The pond was very clean, with no littler. It used to be people would throw trash in it for "fun". I enjoyed the flowers all over the park, and seeing the fish. McPherson has an excellent park department and there are new and different plantings every year.

They should sell fish food there instead of letting people throw in whatever they please. It's great that the pond is clean. Enjoy your day.

Maybe, but people would throw what they wanted anyway.

How funny - they know when food is coming! Nice to see clean ponds . . . I hope everyone helps to keep it that way.

I am glad to hear it is cleaner now, and people are using more common sense!

Yes. This pond goes back in my memory over sixty years. I am not sure exactly how long it has been there. It was there, in a more rugged form, when we took my older sister to college. My kids grew up taking walks to the pond as well.

Those goldfish have formed conditioned reflex since people kept throwing food to feed them.

Yes, it is a conditioned response to a food stimulus. I have always liked watching them.

They seem to. I saw a couple of separate schools that day.
