Back in bed with my morning tea

Good morning, all. I got up at 4:30 a.m. today to prep my husband's packed meal and to tackle last night's dirty dishes in the sink. Hubby left for work at 5:40 a.m. (a little later than usual) and ended up having to endure the horrendous rush hour traffic in Manila. He had to take the scenic albeit longer route to avoid some clogged areas.
I had my early breakfast at 6 a.m. - tuna omelette, rice and some leftover spicy ramyeon. While eating I watched a full documentary on relative social mobility (via The Economist on YouTube).
After breakfast I plugged the vacuum and mindfully covered every tile in the living room and in the dining room. I then switched to my broom to whisk away more dirt and then finally mopped the floors like a mad janitress. I did all these while listening to the Luminous mysteries of the holy rosary. A good 20 minutes.
Once I was done, the husband called on Viber. We do a virtual chat every morning as soon as he gets to his office. We talk until his official work time starts.
Now I'm back in bed with my morning tea. I'm having genmaicha tea, which is a combination of roasted brown rice and green tea. It's been raining here since last night. I'm loving the weather despite feeling sorry for the hassle it brings to many others who need to commute to work every day.
I hope you're all well and fine whatever weather you're in.

I am not a fan of the summer heat, but I was thankful for the thunderstorm. It's eight at night here where I sit.

I hope the thunderstorm offers some relief. I am not a fan of the summer heat either.

Yes, genmaicha is one of my faves. I like the nutty flavor. I have both the Korean brand (Dongsuh) and the Japanese brand. I prefer the Korean brand.
I've heard about the flooding and the deaths. It's sad to be dealing with it. It's summer and yet it's flooding.

Good morning. I hope you're enjoying your day.
We're having a heat wave in my part of the US. (A heat wave for us, at least. We ended up at 111F/44C this afternoon.) The forecast shows we have a 90% chance of thunderstorms with hail here. (The rain would be nice but Mother Nature can keep the hail.)
It's 7:45 pm where I'm at.

I wish it was that easy to get rid of hail.
The surface water is at 90F/32C around parts of Florida so not boiling but warmer than normal.
Thank you. We normally don't reach 40C in my part of the US.

Hail, begone!
I saw the news on CNN a few hours back. Anchor was talking about the ocean in FL already at 'boiling point' -- is that even true?
In any case, do stay safe. The 40s temp is quite common here but the heat wave is something else.
