Jay's LDL Level is Elevated a Little

My husband Jay had routine bloodwork done this week. He's relatively healthy, except he gets leg cramps if he rides bike for too long a distance. And his LDL is elevated a little bit.
His first time out, Jay rode his bike seventeen miles. He realized afterwards, it was too soon to ride this far. His leg muscles were cramping up, which eventually goes away after he drinks more water.
Jay also drinks Pedialyte, which helps to alleviate any dehydration. I tried it once. It's not bad when it's mixed in with another drink.
I think Jay will be taking some kind of medication, to lower his LDL.

Thanks, that's an older photo. It was taken in the office of our last home:) I still didn't need to dye my hair, at that time. Now, I don't fight the gray(white) hair, I actually like it:)

I have not done such exercice in a bike since I was around 30 years old. Good for him anyway!

We both enjoy riding bike. Jay turns 67 in December, I will be 72 in September.

Wow 17 miles I would have leg cramps after that also. I hope they put him on something to help them out

Tell Jay to swallow a mouthful of dill pickle juice as soon as he feels a leg cramp starting. When I do that, any leg/arm cramps stop immediately. (Not even a few seconds after swallowing the mouthful of juice.)
I read an article a few months ago that said the cramps stop as soon as the pickle juice hits the nerves in the back of the throat.

@kobesbuddy You're very welcome. Pickle juice isn't the best taste but it does work.

For the first time out, it was too far to ride a bike.

With that much exercise I am surprised his LDL is elevated. I hope he gets it under control soon.

Jay loves fast food, candy and desserts. That's bad for anyone.

Jay is feeling great! He just needs to be careful, not to ride his bike too far.

Jay never gets leg cramps, unless he rides bike too far. Other than this, he's in perfect health.

With that type of medication, it will lower his cholesterol in about a month.

I haven't ever tried Pedialyte. I drink power aide and water after I mow to help with dehydration.
I hope the medication will help lower Jay's LDL.

That's a lovely picture of the two of you. I'm on 2 meds for my cholesterol. Hopefully, if Jay goes on cholesterol medicine, it will help his LDL. Enjoy your weekend.

I'm not sure what Jay is taking for this. He will soon be 67 years old, he can't eat junk food quite as often.
