Are you ever just walking along, minding your business and smack right into a spider web? Outdoors, of course. Happened to me this morning. My face got all covered in clingy silky stickiness. I do not know if a spider was there at the moment or not. I was walking over to the trailer we are loading for the dump. I am all for outdoor spiders. They eat flying nasties like mosquitoes. I just do not want entangled in their web.

It happens, most of the time when I go out to work in the garden. It is disgusting.

I still have one cedar tree and they are always webbing under it. I always forget and walk under it.

@LadyDuck I wish I had a large rosemary bush. So far I have not had any that survive our winters here.

I hate it when that happens. I always fear the spider is in my hair and it creeps me out!

I begin to feel like something is crawling on me even when it is not.

@MarieCoyle I want them to stay off of me, and where I can see them.

@GardenGerty Yes, I hate that feeling. But I really, really do not like spiders.

Ooh! Yuck! No, luckily that hasn't happened in a while. Spiders terrify me so I probably would have had a conniption fit. Those garden spiders weird me out. Daddy long legs I might tolerate but that's about it. Yes, outside spiders only in my world please.

I found a big brown spider in my house while cleaning yesterday. I encouraged it out the front door.

@celticeagle I have never heard of a shoe string spider. Now I will have to look them up. Matching pictures I would call it a wolf spider.

@GardenGerty ........I can't handle them. It was probably a shoe string spider. Ugh!

Yes and I don't like that, either. I jump around, swiping the web off myself and hoping the spider wasn't included with the webbing that stayed on me. I don't want spiders in my house but they're fine outside as long as they don't build the web where I need to walk.

It's an awful feeling, isn't it? Spiders used to build webs on our clothesline and I was always walking into them.

You would think we would learn where to expect those webs.

@GardenGerty I never did and I was forever banging my head on a hanging basket. I never did get used to it being there!

That happens to me often when I walk after dark. I'm walking down the hill on a path through the trees and get caught up in spider webs. Feels like getting caught in a trap.

@GardenGerty I've run into some so huge they are as wide as the path itself. You'd think those spiders were looking to catch an owl.

Ugh. I did that two mornings ago, and the resulting scene was quite amusing: arms flailing, mouth sputtering, with my dog dancing in circles because of the ruckus. It wasn’t amusing to ME, but at least the two people around me got a free show.

And of course the dog enjoyed herself as well. Thought it was a game.

I've done that with a line of web, thankfully not a whole web . That stuff is super sticky and strong! The other morning I went through a web line with my leg . . . it's never expected .

Sometimes it happens indoors. Our housekeeper went into a closet that hadn't been opened in months and got a face full! Yuck!
