A Green-Eyed Monster

One of my cousins is a green-eyed monster. He went to attend our twins' birthday on July 16. I am sorry to say that he is a greedy and jealous type of soul in this world. That is why I cannot blame the visitors for thinking differently about him. Since we were kids, he has always shown jealousy toward my younger brother. He wants to have what my younger brother has. As his own blood, we just learned to understand him. We knew that he would not turn a new leaf. How do you handle this kind of soul? Image Credit: jimbuchan.com

That sounds like some petty behavior by your cousin. I guess his parents never noticed, and talked to him about it? I have found if people like that do not change, they lose family and friends as the years go by, and don't seem to grasp why no one wants to be around them anymore.

I guess the parents were so lenient in disciplining him during our childhood years. At an early age, he was so good at fabricating stories. I was even a victim of his bad scheme before, but never hold any grudges towards him.

@Shavkat That was really kind of you. A lot of people let grudges ruin them.

If your cousin is still a young man, I think he can be change under a certain circumstances. I think I have the same experience and try to handle him (my friend) gently by giving advice politely and honorably. It's a long and bumpy road and hard to change his behavior instantly. long story short he got little different from what I heard even we didn't meet anymore, I hope he will be okay.

The family clans had tried to mold him into a good citizen in this world. But still, he did not change a bit. For this reason, we just accept who he really is and feel sorry for the others who cannot understand him.

Jealousy is here to stay and as long as those who have that trait do not harm anyone one should tolerate it

I would stay away from him and not invite to anything at your house.

Actually, he was not invited. We were all caught off guard when he came along with his family. I just felt bad because no one really likes him.

You are right. I did stay away from him. It is his persona to come by even if he was not invited. We were surprised when he just popped out at the party.

@Shavkat I hate those people who auto-invite themselves to the parties.
