Day 15
Habakkuk 3:17 Though the fig tree may not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines; though the labor of the olive may fail, and the fields yield no food; though the flock may be cut off from the fold, and there be no herd in the stalls— 18 yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation.
19 The LORD God is my strength; He will make my feet like deer’s feet, and He will make me walk on my high hills. To the Chief Musician. With my stringed instruments.
It is hard to be happy when your life looks hopeless. It’s hard to look happy when your life tumbles around your ears. How do you go about your day when you receive bad news? Do you shut yourself away from people and wish the world would go away?
Habakkuk finished his prophecy with a prayer and ended the prayer with a pledge to rejoice no matter what life looked like. It’s not easy to rejoice when everything looks hopeless. Yet, that’s what he said he would do.
As Christians, you’re told to put on a good face in the face of disaster. You’re told to praise God when you received the doctor’s report and learned you only had so long to live, or a loved one passed, or you face homelessness or loss of income. Yet, that is exactly what Habakkuk said he would do—rejoice no matter how hopeless life looked.
When you determine to praise God in the middle of your disaster, amazing things happen. God meets you and gives you hope. The doctor’s report becomes a tool for rejoicing because you know you will soon be with the Lord. Your lost income becomes a steppingstone to a better job. When you praise God, you open doors for God to work in your life. When you trust in His promises and make Him accountable for them, He will come through—always.
What troubles face you? Rejoice, sing praises, and put your trust and faith in God and He will open closed doors. Rejoice and watch your enemy flee because greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world. Rejoice and look up because your salvation draws nigh. It’s hard to praise God when you receive bad news, but when you treat your news with praise, God works in unimaginable ways.
Let’s pray: Father, let me praise You when troubles come my way. Satan may try to defeat me with hopelessness, but You are my hope. Turn my sorrow into joy and let me always praise You in every situation. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Yes, with faith, hopelessness turns into hope, that what is happening now will also serve God best in the long run too.
My mother had such a faith.
When she got cancer, she simply increased her faith, and left the outcome to God, who took her into Heaven, around 4 months after her diagnosis.

@just4him The four months involved much suffering, but her faith allowed her to get through it, and to still die, smiling, living, for God.
