Restaurant week started in NYC. It actually lasts for a whole month. August 20th is when it ends. You get a two-course lunch for $30 or a three-course dinner for $45. This doesn't include tax and tip.
This is not a bad deal at all. The downside is that restaurant week is not in effect Saturdays. And that's the only time we usually go out to eat. That is a bummer! I always look forward to this.
Is there something like this where you live?

We have something similar to that, but it really is just a week. A long list of fine dining restaurants offer specials, and when you go, they designate money from the sales of that week to the food banks in surrounding areas. The specials are different courses for $20, $40, or $60. Apparently, the restaurants only do those specially priced courses that one week. I’m sure people who can’t normally afford those restaurants enjoy it, and the food banks no doubt appreciate it.

@AmbiePam I don't think they did this before. Unless I just don't remember. But it would still be a recent thing.

Probably not where I live in Florida. Why not take advantage and go out on a Friday? Most people now look at this as date night.

We can potentially do that. Hubby ends at 7 on Fridays though, if he doesn't get held up.

@lovebuglena my last two cents to help you I thought perhaps so he would not have to go home and then both you go out that you could arrange to meet him at a restaurant, Just saying,

NOpe, nothing like restaurant week here at all. Each restaurants would have their own promo on a regular basis. And yes, they normally exclude the weekends because they know that even with the regular price they could get a lot of customers on those days.

There might be something like that in Cleveland; but that's about 40 miles away for us. Enjoy your day.

@LindaOHio We can go any day he doesn't work till 8 pm but that means more money to spend as we go out Saturday already. I never cook on Saturdays. We either go out or order in.
