I come by my love of a good mystery quite honestly. My mom loved to read mysteries. She read Sherlock Holmes and watched all those old British mysteries on PBS. She loved them. When I watch a mystery I can figure out who did it quite often. Like this one, I am watching on Lifetime right now. I knew did it before I was halfway through the movie. Are you that way too? Can you figure out who the murderer is before you are halfway through the movie?

Sometimes I can and sometimes I’m completely baffled.

I like ones with twists in them and things you don't expect.

@celticeagle So do I. I like to have a big surprise at the end of the book.

I am too sometimes. But I find it exciting those times I do figure it out.

I like some of those too. Some of the English ones I can't hear all of what they are saying.

When it comes to movies it's rare if I can't figure out who dunnit. I don't know if they purposely script the movie that way so you already know or if it's just obvious to people who love a good mystery. i also love to read mystery/thriller books and always try to figure out who did it. Half of me is happy when I figure it out but the other half is surprised when the book ends and it wasn't the person I thought it was.

I don't think they script it so that you already know. I think they want it as much a secret as possible. I remember reading Victoria Holt's books and how well they were written. I sure enjoyed those. I do love a good, well-written mystery. A movie that is well-acted can be as good.

No. I'm not big on mysteries; and I normally can't follow an intricate plot. Enjoy your day.

For some, it isn't entertaining.

I haven't watched a mystery show in quite awhile, so my examples would be of the shows where everyone knew what was coming at the end. You know, those old 80s and 90s shows that weren't very mysterious at all.

It's a guessing game, isn't it?

I can usually figure out who done it by the mid point of the movie, and often within the first scene.

My dad was that way. I'm too simple. But I do enjoy murder mysteries.

Me too. I really look for better writers who really fool me.
