Day 20
Zechariah 8:9 “Thus says the LORD of hosts: ‘Let your hands be strong, you who have been hearing in these days these words by the mouth of the prophets, who spoke in the day the foundation was laid for the house of the LORD of hosts, that the temple might be built. 10 For before these days there were no wages for man nor any hire for beast; there was no peace from the enemy for whoever went out or came in; for I set all men, everyone, against his neighbor. 11 But now I will not treat the remnant of this people as in the former days,’ says the LORD of hosts.
12 ‘For the seed will be prosperous, the vine will give its fruit, the ground will give her increase, and the heavens will give their dew—I will cause the remnant of this people to possess all these. 13 And it will happen that just as you were a curse among the nations, O house of Judah and house of Israel, so I will save you, and you will be a blessing. Do not fear, let your hands be strong.’
14 “For thus says the LORD of hosts: ‘Just as I determined to punish you when your fathers provoked Me to wrath,’ says the LORD of hosts, ‘And I would not relent, 15 so again in these days I am determined to do good to Jerusalem and to the house of Judah. Do not fear. 16 These are the things you will do: speak each man the truth to his neighbor; give judgment in your gates for truth, justice, and peace; 17 let none of you think evil in your heart against your neighbor; and do not love a false oath. For all these are things I hate,’ says the LORD.”
Do you wonder when you will see a change in your life? Do you look for a better life? Is your life one crisis after another? Or is your life one of peace and tranquility and you hope it doesn’t change?
God told His people He would bring change. Gone will be the days of lack. Instead, God would bring blessings to His people. They would prosper and possess the land again. He told them they should speak the truth to his neighbor, and give judgment in their gates for truth, justice, and peace. God told them not to love false oaths or think evil of their neighbors because He hated those things.
Christians want to see blessings in their lives. They want to see change. Yet when you do the things God hates, change won’t come. You won’t see blessings. You need to stop thinking evil about other Christians. Your tongue needs to stop gossiping and your ears need to stop listening to what people say about others. When you do, you will see a change in your life. You will find God’s blessing and prosperity in your home and workplace. Everything you do will prosper.
Psalm 1:1 Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; 2 but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and in His law, he meditates day and night.
3 He will be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, which brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also will not wither; and whatever he does will prosper.
You want to see peace and prosperity in your life. You want God’s blessings, not troubles. Then think of those things that bring peace and hope. When you do, God will bless you.
Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. (NKJV)
Let’s pray: Father, keep my lips from speaking evil, my ears from listening to gossip, my hands from participating in those things that do not edify, and my feet from going where You would not go. Instead, let me be a person of honor and integrity among those who know me and those I meet. Let praise fill my mouth and let Your blessing rest on my life. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
