Skipping rope

While at school a lot of importance was given to sports where I studied. We had regular outdoor sports and competitions with other schools. While I love sports I was not so good as my height came in the way. Those days I was the shortest in class and that changed once I finished school and joined college. Among other sports we also had skipping more to keep our stamina going but here I was good as I did not weigh much and that helped. I could do 72 skips a minutes which was considered good. Today leave alone competing I cannot even manage a single skip what with my age and also the accident I had a few years ago. What's your story? Image credit:

I remember loving to skip rope at school. I could do it on my own, but it was so much fun when others held the ends of long ropes - sometimes even two ropes. I was always the shortest too, but I felt that was to my advantage. I did jump rope to cross train for skating in my 20/30s, but I don't know if my knee could handle high impact activities now.

@rebelann Oh gosh, I have not heard that in a long time! I kinda forgot all the jump rope songs . I might be able to do a one legged jump with the good leg .

Well, as long as you don't fall down or if you do you won't have trouble getting up.

I have never skipped rope and now of course I would not want to. I am legally blind in one eye so sports was not something I was good at.

@rebelann You must have done everything to set it right surely. I have ARMD on one eye and I am taking Lutein to arrest further deterioration.

@allknowing No, I did buy a rope several years ago as an exercise tool but I don't even know where it is right now.
