Tile came with incorrect shipping address

Last Friday I went to the store to buy floor tile for the kitchen, which would be delivered to my house. After I left the store I looked at the receipt and noticed that our address was not written down correctly. The street name was misspelled. It should say Sable but instead it said Sabel. I went back to the store so the guy can fix the error. I saw him do it, both on my receipt and on his. The tile came today and I was given a packing slip to sign. I looked at the shipping address and it says Sabel instead of Sable. Good thing there is no street with the name Sabel around here. The guy was gonna leave the tile on the driveway. I asked him if he can bring it into the house with the help of our contractor. He said no. The contractor ended up opening the garage and having to clear out space so the tile can go in there. Why are they not allowed to bring the stuff into the house?

Working for Lowe’s, I deal with delivery issues all the time. We will drop the load at a customer’s house, but they will not carry it in as part of the delivery. There is an extra charge for carrying it inside the customer’s home. And also, there are numerous liability issues with the delivery drivers entering people’s home

What kind of liability issues? And in reference to Lowes, what about someone buying appliances? They have to bring them to where they are supposed to be in the house, no?

There is probably a liability issue with bringing it into the house. I'm glad it was delivered. Enjoy your day.

That seems weird that he wouldn’t bring the tile indoors.

I can understand him not doing it because he is alone and tile is heavy. But the contractor was there and he could've helped so why still no.

Wow..no huh? Too bad because probably back in the day he would have said yes. Oh yeah good thing it got to you then with that wrong spelling.

I don't get why the spelling was wrong when I corrected it at the store. Unless in the time it took me to leave the store and return to it he had already placed the order. But that was a few minutes at most.

Perhaps they're allowed but he just didn't want to. It's good it didn't go to the wrong address.

Maybe. He did put it into the garage. But he had a huge thing that the tiles were on that he pulled and used to unload tiles.
