Day 28
Matthew 5:5 Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.
What kind of person is meek? What characteristics does he or she have? Meek people aren’t weak. They don’t set themselves up as doormats to allow people to walk over them. They also don’t walk away from a fight.
Jesus said meek people would inherit the earth.
As Christians, how would you describe Jesus? A song describes Him as meek and mild. Yet Jesus used a whip to cast the moneychangers from the temple. When confronted by a man with an epileptic son after His transfiguration, He asked how long He would bear them.
John 2:13 Now the Passover of the Jews was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
14 And He found in the temple those who sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the moneychangers doing business.
15 When He had made a whip of cords, He drove them all out of the temple, with the sheep and the oxen, and poured out the changers’ money and overturned the tables.
16 And He said to those who sold doves, “Take these things away! Do not make My Father’s house a house of merchandise!” (NKJV)
Matthew 17:14 When they had come to the multitude, a man came to Him, kneeling to Him and saying, 15 “Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is an epileptic and suffers severely; for he often falls into the fire and the water. 16 So I brought him to Your disciples, but they could not cure him.”
17 Then Jesus answered and said, “O faithless and perverse generation, how long will I be with you? How long will I bear with you? Bring him here to Me.”
A meek person stands their ground. He is gentle and patient. He is kind and forgiving. He turns the other cheek when confronted by those who make false accusations about him.
1 Peter 2:18 Servants, be submissive to your masters with all fear, not only to the good and gentle but also to the harsh.
19 For this is commendable, if because of conscience toward God one endures grief, suffering wrongfully.
20 For what credit is it if, when you are beaten for your faults, you take it patiently? But when you do good and suffer, if you take it patiently, this is commendable before God.
How did Jesus describe Himself?
Matthew 11:29 “Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” (NKJV)
So then, a meek person exhibits the character of Jesus. He is gentle, kind, forgiving, and stands His ground for what is right.
Philippians 2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus, 6 who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, 7 but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men.
8 And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.
9 Therefore, God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name, which is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus, every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and those on earth, and those under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
When you have the same demeanor as Jesus, you will display a meek attitude and find God’s blessing in your life. You will be strong in your faith, zealous for what is right, patient with those who struggle with their newfound faith, forgiving those who condemn you, and ready to give your life for the gospel.
Let’s pray: Father, help me to be meek. Help me to be gentle and kind-hearted, forgiving, and patient. Help me to stand for what is right and condemn what is wrong. Let people see Jesus in me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

I believe in God/Jesus but lately been arguing and talking with him giving him a run. If he could (and should) I should be put in a corner for a spell. I praise him. I thank him. I also complain to him. Too many things have happened the last two years and really turned bad in March. Every day, no peace. So, being meak is not always easy to do.

God knows what you're going through. It isn't wrong to argue with God or complain to Him. One thing you should do is praise God because you're doing something right if Satan is harassing you that much. You're on the right track and that is nothing to be unhappy about.

I am grateful that the Lord has worked enough in my life, that I was recently able to turn the other cheek when someone decided to harass me. After a little while, all I felt was pity, and thankfulness I didn’t go down the same path they did.
