Day 29
Matthew 5:6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
People run after many different things. They feel hunger and thirst for things of the flesh. They can’t get enough of spending time doing things that don’t edify the body or the mind, yet they can’t stop doing those things, such as gossip, pornography, celebrity worship, even your work, and the need to gain as much money as possible is a hunger and thirst you don’t deny. In the meantime, your mind and body shrivel up without proper nourishment.
Jesus said there was one thing you need to hunger and thirst after—righteousness. As the body needs proper nourishment to remain healthy, so too, does the soul need the proper nourishment to remain healthy. You can only get that nourishment through the study of God’s Word.
Christians need to spend time studying God’s Word. When you do, you feed your soul. Putting God’s Word into your heart and mind keeps you from sin.
Psalm 119:11 Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You!
2 Timothy 2:14 Remind them of these things, charging them before the Lord not to strive about words to no profit, to the ruin of the hearers.
15 Be diligent to present yourself as approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
16 But shun profane and idle babbling for they will increase to more ungodliness.
17 And their message will spread like cancer. Hymenaeus and Philetus are of this sort, 18 who have strayed concerning the truth, saying that the resurrection is already past; and they overthrow the faith of some.
When you seek God with all your heart, soul, mind, and spirit, you will be well-fed and nourished. The best thing you can do for your life is to hunger and thirst for righteousness. The more you do, the more God will fill you and bless you.
Let’s pray: Father, fill me daily with Your Word so that my soul is nourished, and righteousness becomes a way of life. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

I do agree with you. Our body needs a spiritual nourishment and it's the words of God.

When we live from such righteousness, God's love pours into us, and nourishes us then, too.
When we live from riotousness, instead, we are not seeking God, but usually seeking such gratifications of the body, instead, as you mentioned there, such as gossip, and greed, etc.
