Our last full day in camp, for now

Today was our last full day in camp and it was a busy one.
I started the morning off with a paddle over to the next cove and back. Then, after breakfast cooked outside on the grill, spent a couple of hours checking out the writing sessions on the MediumDay non-conference sponsored by the publishing website Medium.com. Some of them were dull as dry toast. Others were informative and helpful.
For lunch, we went into town with another couple from the camping club. K is good friends with the wife, R, and the husband and I get along well. Both K and R needed to do some grocery shopping for the potluck cookout tonight.
After shopping, we dined at City Barbecue. Funny thing, but we wound up at the shopping center and restaurant right in front of the apartment complex Son2 and GF used to live in.
The potluck cookout was a lot of fun. Nearly the entire club was there.
After dinner, K and I came back and packed up some of the outdoor things we won't need in the morning. Checkout time isn't until 3 pm but we will be on the way home before then.
Our next camping trip will be over the American Labor Day Holiday Weekend the first weekend in September. We'll be at the KOA near my mom's place, not with the club.

I forgot about Labor Day until I tried to schedule a doctor appointment for September 4th. The lady on the phone sounded appalled that it skipped my mind. I imagine if I were looking forward to that day off, I might be appalled someone forgot too. 
It sounds like you had a fantastic time. It makes me wish I were outdoorsy.

Now that is the outback, you know how many places are like that here? a big fat 0. There is a pond in canyon for fishing but have to pay for it.

As much as I love camping, it is just way too hot and humid right now to do any camping. Was the heat bad where you were? It sounds like you had a really good time. I'm looking forward to another camping trip in the (hopefully) near future when it's not so hot!

@moffittjc Our primitive camping days ended when Son2 made Eagle Scout. After that, we decided we were done sleeping on the ground.

@DWDavis Oh, I see. Camping in style. When I camp, it’s primitive, so there is no option for A/C.

My weekend was fun. I went to my cousin's wedding reception on Saturday. I joined in some line dances. It's funny that you went to Jordan Lake and my cousin's name is Jordan (she's the one who got married). lol She got married earlier and had the reception on Saturday. Sunday I went to Petsmart and Walmart. I wanted to get some spray to attract the cats to the new scratching post. I couldn't find my spray. Petsmart didn't have it, but Walmart had something similar.

Love the video. It looks so peaceful there. I'm glad you had a good time. It will be nice to get home though I'm sure. Drive safely and enjoy your day.

The best thing about being home is being able to take long, hot, showers with plenty of water pressure. Campgrounds are notorious for low water pressure at the campsite, and you keep showers short to avoid filling the holding tanks too quickly.
