Clear Channel Memo Songs: Run Like Hell

The state fair is under way here. I’ll be ignoring that. Instead, I’ll enjoy the weather (it is nice here right now!) and give you another song from the Clear Channel Memorandum list of songs some boneheads deemed inappropriate after 9/11. Some I can understand, and some are just because of the title. Like this one. Run Like Hell - Pink Floyd “Take Miralax and you’ll run like hell!” (I did that last month with my colonoscopy; my brother’s is next week. The family that poops together….) As with yesterday’s tune, this song’s title is the problem. It has nothing to do with the lyrics, the general concept of The Wall, or anything else. A few years ago I listened to the entire The Wall album, Pink Floyd’s brilliant concept album about the pitfalls of superstardom (the character, Pink, comes from the fact that people would ask which one was Pink, thinking “Pink” and “Floyd” were the two lead singers ). I was surprised how much of the album I knew, despite never owning it. Those were the days of FM rock radio.
