My routine for the day

While I’ve been house-sitting, I’ve been getting up at about 7.15am and heading out to give the three horses their hay-nets. The last few mornings have been very foggy and I managed to get a photo of the horses coming home through the fog. I put it up on a previous post. Sometimes the horses are waiting for me but if not, they hear the big shed door sliding open and they start heading home. The old grey mare is often a bit late coming for hers.
I have a routine in the mornings. I give Dixie, the border collie, her kibble, then take the horses their hay-nets. There are six nets and I bring back the empty ones from the trees and refill them ready for next morning. I bring back a handful of oat heads to give to Jimmy, the cockatoo. Then I head inside to make coffee.
Jimmy gets a corner of toast and Vegemite after our breakfast, then two almonds and a piece of gingernut biscuit for morning tea. Dixie gets meat and a big bone in the evening and Jimmy gets a handful of linseed seeds. I also take him some thistle at some time during the day.
I’ll attempt to put up a photo of the view we had from the top of a hill where we took Dixie for a walk.

The view of the Fields look fabulous! I remember seeing such fields from some of the Trains I journeyed in over the last 1 year.
The Hill won't be at a big height?
Good that the picture loaded. Many people's pictures are not loading when they add in their discussions.

That could be a painting or a puzzle. I love imagining all the bits you give Jimmy throughout the day.

I could take him out of his cage but he doesn't like men and tends to flap down off his outside perch if Vince gets anywhere near him. Last time he did it he hurt his leg or foot and was limping. He's fine now but I haven't had him out since. He has a lovely big cage but I try to break his day up for him.

I think it's a bit of OCD needing to have a pattern to the days.

That is a gorgeous view and really does look like a painting.
Your house sitting day is very busy.

It's our last day today so we're gathering our bits from all over the house and will move into the caravan tonight as the folks will be home late.

It sounds like a nice routine. Did you miss it last year after you left the house-sit?

@JudyEv I understand. I'm never completely comfortable in someone else's house like I am in my own home.

@JudyEv
I imagine it is enjoyable, not too long and then you can go home again for awhile, the best of both worlds.
