Day 42 Matthew 23:37 “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing! 38 See! Your house is left to you desolate; 39 for I say to you, you will see Me no more till you say, ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the LORD!’” Do you have family and friends who do whatever they desire with no thought of the consequences? You speak to them and try to show them that what they are doing will bring only trouble to their lives, but they won’t listen to you. Do you mourn for them because you did all you could, and they refused to listen to you? Jesus mourned over Jerusalem because the authorities refused to listen to the prophets God sent to them, killed them, and did whatever they desired. He told Jerusalem He would leave her alone until He returned and then those in authority would bless Him. As Christians, you know the prophecy Jesus spoke over Jerusalem came about after His death and resurrection. Israel refused to acknowledge Jesus as their Messiah. Instead, the gospel went to the other nations of the world who accepted what Jesus did for them. You know Jesus will return one day and when He does, His people will see Him and acknowledge Him as their Messiah. Then they will understand and accept Him. Until that day, you are to pray for Jerusalem, for Israel to come to understand and accept Him as their Messiah. Many Jewish people have accepted Jesus and understood the prophecies and what He did for them. They know the truth and the truth sets them free. Like you, Satan no longer holds them captive, but they sing the songs of praise and adoration to God for all He did for them. However, many Jewish people still refuse to acknowledge Jesus. God has not given up on His people. Jesus said they would acknowledge Him when they saw His return. Until then pray for Israel and God’s chosen people. Let’s pray: Father, I praise You and bless You for all you did for me. Let me mourn for Your people as Your Son mourned for them when He prophesied over Jerusalem. Give me a heart of compassion for Your people and pray for their salvation daily. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. Copyright © 24 August 2023 by Valerie Routhieaux The image belongs to me.

It is good that God's chosen people will be given a second chance to accept Jesus. Right now, they place Moses above Jesus, l think. They do not accept Jesus as the Messiah. The Rabbis think they are right too. They cannot accept that God had a son.
