The earliest evidence of wine dates back to 6000 BCE in Georgia (not the State). There are many types of wines made from many different foods: Fruit - Made from grapes, apples, berries, etc. Honey - Also known as Mead Starch - Barley, rice, sake Classifications with some examples: Red - Merlot, Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Bordeaux (regional) White - Chard*onnay, Riesling, Muscat, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio Rose Orange (also known as Amber) - Made from white wine grapes with the skin left intact Sparkling - Champagne Fortified - With a higher alcohol content Ice - Typically sweet with a lower alcohol content Dessert - Sweet served with dessert The most delicious wine I ever had was one my hubby made from tea. It was really smooth and tasty. I only drink on New Year's Eve now...usually bubbly. I used to have to watch what kind of wine I drank. I get horrific migraines from some wines. Do you drink wine?
