Day 46
Mark 4:14 “The Sower sows the word. 15 And these are the ones by the wayside where the word is sown. When they hear, Satan comes immediately and takes away the word that was sown in their hearts. 16 These likewise are the ones sown on stony ground who, when they hear the word, immediately receive it with gladness; 17 and they have no root in themselves, and so endure only for a time. Afterward, when tribulation or persecution arises for the word’s sake, immediately they stumble. 18 Now these are the ones sown among thorns; they are the ones who hear the word, 19 and the cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things entering in choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful. 20 But these are the ones sown on good ground, those who hear the word, accept it, and bear fruit: some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some a hundred.”
People want explanations for everything they see and hear. They want to understand what people say to them.
Jesus spoke to the people in parables. The disciples asked Him the meaning of the parable of the Sower. He taught them the meaning of the parable. He told them the Sower was the Son of God who came and taught the Word, but not everyone was ready to receive it. Satan could take the Word from the skeptics, even those who gladly heard the Word. He showed them how people are ready to hear, but not believe. Yet there are some who eagerly listen to the Word and believe it for the simple truth it contains. They are the ones who spread the Word to others so they too will believe.
Many Christians listen with skepticism in their hearts. They are ready to tear apart what they heard. They want to believe, but life shows them they can’t believe everything they see and hear. Even becoming a Christian was hard for them. They need indisputable proof of what they see and hear. As Jesus taught His disciples that there are three types of people who listen. So too, there are three different types of Christians. Christians who gladly hear what their teachers and ministers teach them. Then when they are alone, take apart everything they heard. Their hearts aren’t ready to receive what they hear. Satan easily steals the Word from them. Then there are Christians who believe what they hear, but it is difficult to accept because of the troubles that always come their way. They want to believe, but life shows them it isn’t easy. Then there are Christians who believe without question. They see the power of God in their lives when they take hold of the Word.
What kind of Christian are you? Jesus told the disciples that though many hear, those who labor for the gospel are few.
Matthew 9:37 Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. 38 Therefore, pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”
Jesus will send those who gladly hear and believe the message sown in their hearts into the harvest field. There they will sow the Word and reap a bountiful harvest of souls for the kingdom of God.
Let’s pray: Father, let Your Word sink deep into my soul. Let me be a witness to the power of Your Word in my life so that I can draw others to You and bring a harvest of souls into Your kingdom. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Yes, the deeper that God's word sinks into our soul, our heart, and our mind, the harder will it be for Satan to reach in that deep, and to steal these truths away from us.
Loving God, with all that we are, also creates an impenetrable barrier to Satan around us, and our lives too.

@just4him Yes, with God on our side, Satan has no way to get past God to us.
