Switching Wallets or Purses

Wallets, or purses as how some will call it, are bag essentials for me. I still use cash with my cards, I have my IDs, change, and some other personal effects like pictures and special cards that have taken permanent residence in whatever wallet or purse that I use.
I have no preferences with wallet sizes - sometimes I just want to use a small one - I don't mind if I have to fold the notes, as long as my cards and cash all fit. Then there are times when I want to use a full-sized wallet.
I bought an all-leather mini wallet 2 years ago from Portland Leather Goods on sale for $25. Until now, it smells like new leather. But I am ready for a change. Interestingly, the next plastic tote that I unpacked from the move contains some of my wallets. This made me want to switch wallets to a full-sized one.
Unlike me, my husband has been using the same wallet since 2013. And prior to this wallet, he was using an older one that is falling apart. He only bought a new one when his notes started to fall off.
One Christmas, I showed him a man's leather wallet that I want to get for him. He said he will not use it; he has a wallet that he is still usable, and he intends to use it until it falls apart. He does not see the need to switch wallets like I do. Since his leather wallet is sturdy, it will be a while before he needs to replace it. I told him when that time comes, I will get it for him. By then, I hope to have saved enough money to buy it.

Your husband sounds like mine. But, I think mine has yours beat. Mine keeps enforcing his with duct tape.

@Raine38 LOL, I am sure. Strangers tell my husband he needs to replace his.

Same here. I know some friends who will buy a bag organizer separately since the bag that they bought has no compartments. I don't see the reason for an added expense like that when they can get a bag with inside pockets already. But to each their own!

I love purses and totes. I'm looking for a smaller purse tomorrow, though. The one I'm using is fine, but I need something smaller since I'm using a cane now to walk.
