I went out on my patio, and I found out who's been doing the walking around upstairs.
There was a young lady (maybe in her mi-20's/early 30's) out on the balcony with a little girl, and I said hello.
Sure enough, she's my new neighbor. She introduced herself and her daughter, and we chatted a bit about things. Unfortunately they don't have a dog (or any pets), but she said they were thinking of getting one. When we were starting to talk about pets the little girl said, "Yeah!" I hope she gets a dog, but that's me. 
At least they seem friendly. I'm glad for that.

I hope they aren’t too loud for you. I live on the top floor of my apartment building now because I started out living on the bottom floor, and I could not take the noise overhead anymore. The constant thumping and running aggravated the migraines I get. But how great your new neighbors are friendly! You have to love a cute kid.

No, I just heard movement. The previous neighbor's noise didn't bother me, either. Just so glad they're friendly.
