Tell Us About Your Pets

September 18, 2023 3:11pm CST
What pets do you have, how old are they, what are their names? I'll go first. We currently have one adopted cat, named Cricket, age 13 1/2 years. He is an orange and white tabby. He's a boy cat. We love him and he is so happy to live with us. Now it's your turn. Tell us about your pets.

My Chihuahua, Sadie, is somewhere between 7 to 10 years old, according to the rescue she originally came from. My guess is closer to 7 since she’s so energetic, and has no sign of cataracts. I have had her for almost four years, and she is the only dog I have ever had that was a diva. Currently, she has taken to waking me up at 4am every morning for the last month to get pets for about 30 minutes. It does not matter that she gets plenty of attention during the day, and I can’t ignore her or she’ll swipe at my arm until I pay attention. I love the little weirdo.

@AmbiePam Oh my, that would drive me crazy to be woken up at that time every morning. Yikes! I hope she breaks that habit soon!

Our sweet cat Gracie is about 15 I think. She suffers from PTSD after that woman ran through our garage a few years ago and I suspect narrowly missed Gracie.

@1creekgirl How do you know she suffers from PTSD...does she show symptoms? I would suffer from that also if that happened to me!

@Kouponkaren Yeah, she's very nervous and any noise scares her. Sometimes she disappears into the woods behind us for a day or two. If I let her in the house, she runs straight to Nathan's bedroom and hides under the bed.

Surprised no one is tired of hearing about our Chilly-bug. I'm not sure how old he is, but he shows no signs of slowing down. We've had him around 17 years and we guesss he was about a year when he found us and adopted us.

Brother and sister Freddie and Morticia. Freddie is black and white and Morticia is a true black beauty so I am set for Halloween They are a bit over a year old, They are both very intelligent, I feed them from a blue dish that has two indentations. So they have learned who takes the left side and who the right side. Freddie has the left and if his sister Tish is being her annoying self she will stick her nose into his side and he had to back up in which case I just put him down on the right side SIGH

@louavul We have none right now and we’re waiting till we are settled in our new place before my wife adopts another cat. We’ve had what seems to have been millions of cats over the years. I’m happy not to have any, but my wife doesn’t like to be catless. Oh we do actually have a cat, but she went to out son’s while we were on holiday in July and doesn’t seem to have come back for some reason!!

@xFiacre Well either the cat really likes it there, or your son really likes having the cat there. Or both!

Well we had many when I was a kid and through out the years when I was grown. My favorite was the pup that my Dad gave to me..he raised the German Shepherds. I named her Beauty. She got out somehow, ran down the street, and was run over by a train sadly. I remember my Father carrying her home in his arms.

I have inherited three cats from my uncle. I own one cat. The three cats I inherited are Buster who is 5 years old (I think), Doodlebug (who is 6 years old, I think), and Susie (who is three or four years old I think). I own Lily who is about 7 years old I think. Lily is a black cat. Buster is a orange tabby. Susie is a tortie, and Doodlebug is a black and white cat.

We no longer have any dogs; and I miss them sooooo much. We decided not to get any more dogs because of our ages. We don't want to pass away and then who will take our dogs? Will they be well taken care of? Will they languish in a shelter? Much better not to have any. Have a good day.

Tell us more...how old was he when you adopted him and where did you get him from? Did he have a sad past? We have one very sweet rescue dog that we adopted from the Humane Society 3 years ago. She is 4 now. We treat her like our "baby" since our kids are all grown up.
