Do you know that certain Gifts are Taboos in some countries?

Yes. Alcohol, pork items, women's garments are taboo as gifts in Arab countries! Giving a gift with a single hand is insulting in Korea! What about in your country? Can you think of any examples (of any country)?

I have no idea about other countires. But in India, people should not give handkerchieves to women. Salt is not given as gift and if it is given, money should be collected. Black coloured clothes should not be given at happy celebrations as gift.

I didn't (in my 50 years) know the ones about kerchiefs and women & salt! We all know that 'black' is not considered auspicious. Don't you think handkerchiefs are relatively new introductions to females in society?
