Barbara Kennedy who recently moved to her new home in Swansea South Carolina about a week ago went searching for her lost emu named Big Bird who is six months of age managed to leave her home and get on the run in the neighborhood. Barbara's daughter went on social media to ask for help by her neighbors in the community to locate Big Bird who is a male emu.  Big Bird was seen by a neighbor Barbara on Sunday as her neighbor called Barbara to inform her that Big Bird was in her yard. Barbara will make sure that the fence will be higher so Big Bird will not be able to leave her home from now on. Link is upi.com/43116950527000 @upi

I am glad that they found it. I will be distraught if I lose one of my pets.

I know how you feel since one my cats named Mumps left home two years ago and she has never returned.

@Deepizzaguy I am glad that you can feel my sentiment. I must say that I lost my first ever pet cat before.

She might have to build a tall fence to keep the emu in.

Barbara admits that she will need a huge fence to keep her emu inside her farm.

@Deepizzaguy He might climb right over the fence.

Emus are native to Australia, and can live more than thirty years, and reach more than 6 feet in height. An adult emu can jump over a fence of seven feet high. They are good jumpers. You need a licence here in Australia to own emus. I wonder how that lady got hold of one. So, she might have to keep increasing the height of that fence as the Emu grows.

@Deepizzaguy That might be true, but probably illegally, as legitimate sellers would probably not do that from here.

That is a good question how Barbara acquired the emu was through the internet where animals can be purchased overseas.

I am in agreement with you since Big Bird is like a child to Barbara.
