Well, I guess...

I'm getting older.
Or something.
For a while now, I've noticed that I couldn't hear certain tones. I was finally able to get a referral to a local hearing aid place, and had an appointment today.
Sure enough, after I went in the booth and did the hearing test, the doctor brought me to the office and showed me that the tones I couldn't hear were all pretty low. I've noticed myself saying, "What?" "Pardon me?" "Could you repeat that?" more and more, and my boss has an especially low tone to her voice for a woman, and I'm always asking her to repeat herself.
So, they're working on getting me hearing aids. Thanking the Lord that my insurance pays for this.

That’s awesome! My dad was like a changed man after getting his hearing aids seven years ago. I remember he asked what a particular sound was, and it was someone getting a tissue out of a Kleenex box. He was absolutely amazed. Plus, you couldn’t even see the hearing aids they were so small.

I'm hoping that they help me as well--though I'm guessing that they will. My dad was born partially deaf in both ears. He wore hearing aids for as long as I could remember.

I am in agreement with you that health insurance is very important for all of us to have when meeting with doctors.

Several people of my age are having hearing problems. I, myself, have noticed that now I listen to the TV at a higher volume. The doctor made me take a test and the technician told me that I was fine "for my age". WHAT??? Am I supposed to start learning sign language?
. Humberto´s doctor did tell him about getting a hearing aid but he said that that was for sissies. Go figure!

Ay yi yi. My brother is going to have a field day when he finds out. He likes to remind me that I'm older than him (by a whopping year and eleven months...

@xstitcher I know what you mean. One of my closest friends is 6 months my senior. We call each other in our birthdays just to make fun of the other.
