Are we better or worse than animals?

I finished a brunch with leftovers. I made a sort of paste with bits of the roasted chicken I had made for Daniel (there are lots of it in the freezer to make real dishes later) with some leftover mayo and the rest of the stuffed green olives that offered Leticia yesterday. Delicious with a nice warmed bun. I put the chicken carcass in water to boil with the insides except for the liver. I will have a consommé with the country eggs that Anita brought on Wednesday. I thought that it was the best way to eat them and enjoy them.I put all the buttery chicken jelly there and some fresh oregano leaves. The oregano plant that Leticia brought me last year is beautiful. I think that even if it is in a containear, I will not have to buy dry oregano when I need it. I can make my own. I was watching Animal Planet channel and the people there said that a lion hunting first and then eating a buffalo had been the most terrible thing that he had seen. I wondered what did he have for lunch. Maybe not a buffalo, maybe he bought his food at the supermarket, but someone did raise and slaughtered animals for us to eat. I enjoyed my meat sandwich and went on watching Nature do what it had to do. I´m not a vegetarian. I am now eating less meat because I´m old and my body is not as interested in meat as when I was young. There´s no philosophy behind this. I do my composting as much as I can and recycle as much as I can. That I can do. And I eat leftovers. This buffalo will be eaten first by lions, then by jackals and vultures. I eat almost all I can and then Luna takes over. I will only throw away the overcooked carcass of the chicken. As for the trout, I always have to fight with someone for the skin. In is the best part. And full of omega3 oil. How about you?
