Bob made a salad

One hobby Bob enjoys is reading cooking magazines. He found a recipe for an interesting salad and had to try it out today. It has peaches, tomatoes, red onions and basil, with a balsamic vinegar dressing. It was supposed to have feta cheese, which I like, but he used some mozzarella and cheddar that we already have. The salad was very good and served as a focal point in our evening meal of baked salmon and seasoned green beans. The recipe sounded a bit odd, but it certainly tasted delicious.

We often make a strawberry and spinach salad. That sounded odd too but like yours, it tasted delicious.

@JudyEv That's one of my favorite salads to eat when we go out to lunch. Sometimes I make it at home too if I have spinach and strawberries, but when we go out to eat they add lots of fun things like feta cheese, pecans, etc.

@Kouponkaren @GardenGerty I've never seen it offered here but it always goes over well if we take it to a gathering.

It does sound odd, onions and peaches just seem like a bad match to me. Mike had a salad the other day with strawberries and blueberries in it and he really enjoyed it. Your dinner sounds really good.

I think the idea of the tomatoes was a bother to me. I do not know why it should be though. I have had peach salsa.

As long as it is good than all is good. My husband likes to make new things that he see recipes for. He is a good cook.

I wouldn’t have thought about peaches going in a recipe with onions and tomatoes.

I love to read cooking magazines and cookbooks too. Even though I can't cook anymore, I still can't give up my hobby! I'm glad Bob made a good salad. Have a great day.
