Can you solve Rubik's cube? And do it blindfolded?

I’ve just watched some ‘speedcubing’ on YouTube. This competitive sport revolves around solving puzzles. The one I watched involved solving the Rubik cube, which was invented in 1974 by Emo Rubik, a Hungarian professor of architecture.
I was watching blindfolded competitors solve the cube in a matter of seconds. The record for solving the Rubik cube blindfolded is 12.10 seconds. I can’t even solve it with my eyes open, let alone blindfolded!
Are you able to solve the Rubik cube? And I’ll probably be missing here for perhaps 3 or 4 days – just so you know.

When I was younger, I loved to solve Rubik cube. Not blindfolded, but I can solve it in quite a short time.

@Beestring I'm sure that you'd still be able to do it athough you might need to take a couple of goes.

Enjoy your trip! I tried solving the cube a couple of times and decided that gardening was more interesting.

@JudyEv I like other games such as word games with other people. But I never saw a point in this.

@marguicha I prefer word games. My 'logic' doesn't always work.

I can solve one and sometimes, two, sides of a Rubik Cube but I'll never be able to solve the entire thing... It's not the type of puzzle that I'm interested in playing with.
I hope, where ever you're going, that you enjoy yourself.

@JudyEv You're always welcome.
Some things don't take long to become boring.

I have tried to solve Rubik's cube and it was harder than trying to convert the 7 and 10 split in bowling.

@JudyEv That is very true because I tried to solve the puzzle many times and failed.

No. I never could. I had to learn the solution step by step.
I remember at school some people were amazingly good at it. And most of them were not the 'clever' kids either. Obviously it requires some other skill than what is conventionally regarded as intelligence.

The thing about Rubik's cube is that once you know how to follow the formula, you just know how to do it forever, so I feel like it only has playability up to that point. I guess that's why people then do stuff like speed-solving and blind solving -- they're trying to add that challenge back in to keep it from being boring. I don't really know the formula because I didn't care enough about it to put in the time, so I can solve two sides, and that's about the best I can do.

Yes.
I grab the Rubik's cube and a butter knife, pop all the pieces off, and put the cube back together one color at a time.
At least, that is what we did back in the late 1970s/early 1980s.

. My son can solve it now too, but he found a faster solution through YouTube. Blindfolded - I can't even imagine how that works
