My downstairs neighbor is nosy and gets the dirt on everyone in this building. She came up here before and told me that the babydaddy is in jail. Chantal apparently got a restraining order against him and I guess pressed charges on him for something(s) and he wound up getting arrested at his aunt's house which is where he supposedly moved. My neighbor didn't have specific details about that.
Anyway he has a court appearance next week and Chantal plans to ask the judge not to send him to prison but to force him into rehab, drug/alcohol testing, anger management, and supervised visitation. With his record I think the judge will laugh her straight out of his court. My upstairs neighbor knows how to look up charges/cases in county court and apparently he has 11 charges that he has to deal with next week.
What is even more bizarre is that Chantal was here before cleaning out the babydaddy's room. I guess his uncle finally told him to GTFO since his father (the uncle's cousin) is going to an assisted living facility. What I don't understand is why Chantal is taking responsibility for clearing out his stuff and cleaning up the apartment. She was so upset/angry that she pressed charges against the guy and whatever it was was bad enough to land him in jail but now she doesn't want him to stay in jail and she's clearing out all of his stuff. It is like some strange variation of Stockholm syndrome.
At least the babydaddy is going to be officially be out by the end of the weekend. He has brought nothing but trouble to this building.

Maybe she is hoping to find something of value in his stuff?

The best that can happen to the baby is to have his dad out of his life ASAP.

At least it's being handled even if not in the way we expect. And he can't come back, hopefully.

She obviously still cares for him. Abused people seem to be unable to cut the cord in a lot of cases. Waaaay too much drama. Enjoy your weekend.
