In Ireland, they are setting up a new major. They want the upcoming students to be online influencers. This major is called the Bachelor of Arts in Content Creation at South East Technological University. The mindset behind piloting this new course is to educate the students. Once they complete it, they can be a self-employed influencer or content creator for a particular company. The application will start in November, and the class will start in September 2024.
What do you think of the influencer course at the Irish university?

I think it is a waste of time and money. The fact is that when it comes to certain things, you either have the talent or you don't. You can't create great actors, great artists, star athletes, great musicians, bestselling authors, superstar directors, successful entrepreneurs and so on and so forth through a course. If one has the talent, they will succeed. If not, they will simply have a wasted degree.

I think it sounds like nonsense. Content creation is very varied and there are surely already qualifications for that, depending on what the content is. I would have thought a business or media degree would cover whatever it is they're intending for this one to do.

I also had the same thoughts about this matter when reading the article. My concern is having the self-employment to finish the course. I am not in favor because it is still better for them to work for a company physically to gain more work experience.
For the content creator, we can still do it without having formal education about it. These days, some of these influencers are self-taught about knowing how to be one.

Well, I suppose there is a right way and a wrong way to do everything.

@wolfgirl569 I agree. I was thinking not to show my face. I can do some stuff on videos with my voice only.
