Thanks to the actions of United States Air Force (USAF) flight instructor who was off duty when he used his experience as a climber as well as his experience in the medical area he was able to rescue a climber who slid down 80 feet to the ledge suspended over 8,000 feet above the valley floor at Yosemite National Park in California at the section known as the Half Dome Summit.
The incident took place on Saturday September 2 when a fellow climber fell down the Half Dome. Captain Joshua Haveman knew that after he heard the cries for help from the climber who fell down to risk his life and do his best to rescue the injured climber.
Captain Haveman was able to use his first experience to use some sticks to use as a splinter to place on the injured climber who suffered a broken leg from the fall.
Captain Haveman managed to contact a park ranger to get both the captain and the injured climber out of the mountain safely.
A helicopter took the injured hiker to a local hospital by helicopter where the injured climber will hopefully make a full recovery from his injuries which happened since the weather conditions where the accident happened was cold and windy.
Captain Haverman is station at Travis Air Force in California.

I am also amazed that the Captain used his skills to rescue the injured climber himself.

I am in agreement with you that climbing massive heights takes a lot of courage.

I'm glad that the climber was rescued. I would not want to do anything that required me to be at great heights!

Neither would I even though visiting my late grandmother's farm in the farmlands in Panama required climbing up hills that were challenging.
