Day 85
John 5:31 “If I bear witness of Myself, My witness is not true. 32 There is another who bears witness to Me, and I know the witness which He witnesses about Me is true. 33 You have sent to John, and he has borne witness to the truth. 34 Yet I do not receive testimony from man, but I say these things that you may be saved. 35 He was the burning and shining lamp, and you were willing for a time to rejoice in his light. 36 But I have a greater witness than John’s; for the works which the Father has given Me to finish—the very works that I do—bear witness of Me, that the Father has sent Me. 37 And the Father Himself, who sent Me, has testified of Me. You have neither heard His voice at any time nor seen His form. 38 You do not have His word abiding in you, because whom He sent, Him you do not believe. 39 You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these testify about Me. 40 But you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life. 41 I do not receive honor from men.
42 But I know you, that you do not have the love of God in you. 43 I have come in My Father’s name, and you do not receive Me; if another comes in his name, him you will receive. 44 How can you believe, who receive honor from one another, and do not seek the honor that comes from the only God? 45 Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father; there is one who accuses you—Moses, in whom you trust. 46 For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me; for he wrote about Me. 47 But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe My words?”
People don’t believe what they see and hear. They pick and choose what to believe. Even when they witness the act, they have trouble believing. They question what they saw and rationalize that it wasn’t the way they saw it.
Jesus told the people that He did not come as a witness to Himself. He told them a greater witness testified about Him. They rejoiced in John who testified about Him, but they would not believe Him. His purpose was to save them, but they refused to believe Him. They witnessed everything He did and still did not believe. He told them the Scriptures testified about Him and told them they trusted in Moses, but they did not believe him. For if they believed Moses, they would believe Him.
Many Christians claim to know Jesus, yet they don’t open their Bibles, study His Word, or go to church. I see evidence of this everywhere I go. When they do go to church, they question what they hear and doubt what their eyes and ears hear. When someone gives a compelling testimony about what they saw and gives glory to God for what they witnessed, they refuse to believe the testimony.
What will it take to open your eyes and see what God is doing in your life? You have an opportunity every day to witness God’s blessings in your life, but you refuse to see them. You say it’s okay for others to believe, but you look for other proof. Is your salvation real? Or is your claim as a Christian because you were infant baptized? It takes more than infant baptism to become a Christian. It takes a personal acknowledgment that Jesus is your Savior and Lord. Baptism won’t save you. Going to church won’t save you. Only Jesus saves you.
John 3:1 There was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews.
2 This man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, “Rabbi, we know that You are a teacher come from God; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him.”
3 Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
4 Nicodemus asked, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter his mother’s womb a second time and be born?”
5 Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 “Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’8 The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”
Christians who study God’s Word believe what it says and see God’s blessings in their lives because they witness them daily. They do not doubt but believe and rejoice in the faith God gave them to believe in Jesus as their Savior and Lord.
Do you witness God’s blessings every day? Can you testify about what He did for you? If not, it’s time to seek God through His Word and the testimony of other believers.
Let’s pray: Father, let me be Your witness to the truth of Your Word. Let me be a light in the darkness. Let Your Holy Spirit bring people to You for salvation. Give me a word that will change lives. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Most of the world do seem to want some type of a proof, from outside of God.
If they had a relationship with Jesus, they would then know God from inside of God, so to speak, and then, no further proof would be needed.
