I made it for about 20-odd minutes, I think. I wrote down the time I left, but can't find the paper I wrote it on. Coming up to my door, I saw something on the wall, and took a closer look. It was a nearly two-inch long tannish-brownish praying mantis. At first, I wasn't sure it was alive because it was so still, but when I touched it slightly its leg moved, so I gently picked it up and put it in one of my tomato plants. From there it's free to go where it wants. I wouldn't mind it hanging out in my little garden for a while. Now, I need to make some hummingbird food. Hope you're getting everything done that you want to in your part of myLot land!

You're braver than I am when it comes to bugs. They've been a pain in my butt. With all this rain I know a lot more will be forced out in the coming days.

The good thing about praying mantises is they eat a lot of bugs.

It was kind to find a better spot for it.

@xstitcher You would like my friend, Dominique. She was at work, and a praying mantis was on the wall. Someone was going to kill it when she came running in like a superhero to whisk it away to safety. She took pictures of it, and then let it go on its way.

I think praying mantises are cool. Once back at my house there was a 3-4 inch one crawling up the front of the house, and I just sat for an hour at least watching it (and taking pictures).
