Sweatjackets or Hoodies?

It was a fun little "series" I started before I took a five month hiatus from myLot that I thought I'd start back up. Partly because it's just fun to see what people will choose. It's like the "yes" on ketchup on scrambled eggs or "no" on it. We all have a preference for this thing, that thing, or the other thing, and I am always curious where people stand on their preferences. So, for the first thing which is not the first thing let's ask the question. Do you prefer hoodies or sweat jackets? I, for one, am a sweatjacket guy over hoodies. I prefer the ones that zip up. So, which one do you prefer? Zip up sweatjackets or hoodies?

What is a sweat jacket? It depends on the weather. Hoodie if it isn't too cold, winter jacket if it is.

@porwest It looks like a hoodie. I might have one. It's heavier and fleece-lined.

@just4him A hoodie is different. It has no zipper and you put it on over your head. Here is a hoodie.

@RebeccasFarm lol. Some guys can pull it off. Though I am not sure why they want to try. Unless they are a bit fruity...then it makes sense. Otherwise, I don't get it. lol

Overall, probably a sweatshirt, or sweat jacket although I've never had one of those. I do have a Columbia jacket/sweater if that counts. Someone I wish I had something with a hoodie especially when it's very windy, but they are hard to get on and off. Also, I don't our ketchup on eggs or grilled cheese sandwiches but my husband does both.

Now ketchup on scrambled eggs I will do. But I can't imagine it on a grilled cheese sandwich. lol

Zip up jacket but having lived in the rain forest of Oregon for years, hoodies became staples.

@porwest I use pull over hoodie sweat shirts and zip up jackets. If it's raining, I use my Cabella's since water falls off it. No rain, my furry lined Eddie Bauer to keep warmer.

To me they are the same warmth wise. Just one zips and the other you pull over your head. But they are both essentially sweaters.

@noni1959 During the winter I have several options too. Although, I never wear hoodies. My wife loves them though.

This is a tough one. I quite like hoodies but rarely put the hood on. My hoodie is a zip-up.

@porwest Ohhh - I didn't get that. In that case I prefer sweatjackets.

See, if it is a zip up, to me that is a sweatjacket. The difference is that a hoodie you put on over your head and the sweatjacket you zip. But both have hoods.

@JudyEv Interestingly, there seemed to be quite a lot of confusion about this. lol

I prefer a zip up sweat jacket. Easier to take off.

Me too. And for a lot of the same reason. Plus, I just find them more comfortable. Not sure why, but I do. Plus, I can adjust the zipper to make it more open or closed.

I love my hoodies, but only the king that zip not the pull over kind. I have a bunch.

See, now the ones that pull over your head are technically hoodies while the zippered ones are technically sweatjackets. I prefer the zippered sweatjacket over the pull over hoodie.

Neither. I'm a "love to shop for cute little jackets, but then never wear them." Good thing I don't live in a really cold climate.

Being in a colder climate surely helps to determine the potential for necessity I suppose. lol

I would probably pick a sweat jacket because I like the convenience of a zip up jacket and a hood.

I am the same. I keep about 6 or 7 of them and I always buy one or two more each year. I wear them so much they actually do wear out. I have knock around ones and ones that are good enough to wear when I leave the house. lol. I just love them, and always have. My sweatjackets are almost a part of my personality during the colder months. lol

I don't like either one. I get too hot. I also don't have any sweaters. Have a good day.

@porwest I have lots of insulation. Hubs is always cold because he's on blood thinners. I run the A/C; and he has his heater going. Sigh. Once I get cold, though, it takes me forever to warm back up. That's why I hate winter.

Zip up sweat jacket! I want to be able to put it on or take it off easily. That being said, I just got some "hand me ups" from my daughter . . . there were lots of perfectly nice hoodies that I could wear so I kept them. I will somehow make them look fashionable .
