I had a young Japanese student this morning, and she gave me a poor score of "uno" or one. The highest score is five and the lowest is one. Don't be worried. I am used to this kind of evaluation from a poor student. She must be frustrated because of her poor performance during the class. The feeling is mutual because I cannot also defend myself about this concern.I did all I could for her to learn something today. I even translated the phrases and words in her language, but it seems she needs to eat more rice to be using the English language. Have you ever felt frustrated over something recently? I'm sorry about that. You did your best. I'm always feeling frustrated over something! A lot of the time it's because my step-dad hasn't put things in the right place, or he hasn't dried something properly, or his constant moaning! At least I do my moaning on MyLot and don't say it out loud!

It must be challenging for you to handle him. I must say that my father did this before. But then I realized that this is how he showed his frustrations, too. I always think that she is not the only student in this world. I just felt sorry for her because she was not good at her second language. I checked her profile, and it is only the third time that she is taking a class on the platform. It is her loss because only a few virtual teachers like me

@Shavkat Sometimes when I go into the kitchen and my step-dad has left something in the wrong place, or he's dried something and left it on the side and I've touched it and it's still wet, or he throws tea dregs into the bowls that are soaking in the washing bowl or he leaves the cover off the toaster or he doesn't put the saucepans in the right order in the pile, it can get very depressing, and I think the sooner I can get a husband and get out of this place the better! You'd think if she wants to learn she'd make more of an effort, and if she's struggling she should ask for help.

They should consider the rate and the performance of students. Those who cannot learn tend to blame the teachers.

It is not surprising to me that some students are like this. I had learned to let go fast because they could just drain my energy. For more than 10 years, I have accepted that some students with poor performances show frustration by scoring their virtual teachers low. In time, they will realize how poor they are in the field of learning English.

@Shavkat They will realize too late that they were wrong to score the teachers low instead of trying to use their time better and learn what they needed to learn.

That does seem typical of people who do so poorly. People reviewing those will understand how those students are, but it is still frustrating, I know. Yes, I have been frustrated recently. From people with no sense of nuance. I should know better by now.

I agree with you. They can check the difference between her and the other students who give higher than the score of "uno." She is really not a good student because she cannot even understand her own language, despite being translated. I also asked her to reply using their language, and they were poor phrases and sentences, too. It is too bad for her to learn English. It will be a big challenge for her to improve. I also think that we can just ignore people with no sense of nuance. I tried my best not to be engaged with them because it can be the root cause of stress.

I can feel you. I had some situations here. We can still fight them up without our mental strength.

I'm sorry that happened, Shavkat. Unfortunately, holding the teacher responsible for her poor performance won't help anything... Hopefully, she'll figure that out and strive to do better. Oh, yes, I felt frustrated yesterday. Our landlady sent an email telling us she would be at our house to do a yearly evaluation but Pretty had to be at a doctor appointment yesterday. I sent a text message asking if the assessment could be changed to today instead and the landlady sent an email saying that would be fine. After we got home from the doctor appointment, we found a note in our mailbox from the landlady complaining that we hadn't been home for the evaluation.

I am sure she will know the difference if she has classes with other virtual teachers. It is a generic reaction of a poor student in class online. How much more if she is having the classes offline? At her age, it will surely be a big challenge. This kind of person is not considerate. Perhaps they cannot understand the sense of urgency. This is how I hated my ex-landlord. Now, the landlord is quite fine as compared to her. It is a matter of being patient with him for being drunk at random.

@Shavkat The student should find out quickly enough that the problems lies with her when her parents find out she's scoring poorly in the online class(es). Hopefully, the parents are paying attention to her progress. I don't know. This is only the second time we've ever had a home inspection by this landlady and we've lived here five years. She didn't show up yesterday but her husband sent a text saying she wasn't available so would show up today (Friday) instead. We shall see if she does.
