Day 112 Romans 5:6 When we were still without strength, in time Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. 8 But God demonstrates His love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much more then, having been justified by His blood, we will be saved from wrath through Him. 10 For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we will be saved by His life. 11 Not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we received reconciliation. 12 Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men because all sinned— 13 (For until the law sin was in the world, but sin is not imputed when there is no law. 14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those who had not sinned according to the likeness of the transgression of Adam, who is a type of Him who was to come. 15 But the gift is not like the offense. For if by the one man’s offense, many died, much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many. 16 The gift is not like that which came through the one who sinned. The judgment that came from one offense resulted in condemnation, but the gift that came from many offenses resulted in justification. 17 For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.) 18 Therefore, as through one man’s offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man’s righteous act the gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life. 19 For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous. 20 Moreover, the law entered that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more, 21 so that as sin reigned in death, even so, grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. The police officer won’t waive the ticket when you break the law. In the courtroom, the judge won’t justify your disobedience. Your parents won’t justify your actions when you disobey them. Life will never justify your actions when you disobey the law. You need to reconcile your actions by paying the penalty. Paul told the Romans that Jesus paid the penalty for their sin through His blood on the cross. He made a reconciliation with the Father. Where the law showed man their offense toward God. Jesus showed grace by taking their penalty, death, and eternal separation from God, through His sinless death on the cross. Many Christians still try to justify their disobedience. Their transgression wasn’t life-threatening. No one got hurt by their disobedience. They believe God will overlook their offense. Sin is sin. It doesn’t matter what you do. When you disobey the law, your parents, or those in authority and try to justify your actions, you will pay. However, Jesus in His love for you, took your sin, nailed it to the cross, and declared you not guilty. So then when you sin, you have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ. When you confess your sin, God will forgive you and cleanse you because Jesus nailed it to the cross. Jesus is your justification. He is your reconciliation with the Father. When you sin, don’t forget to confess your sin so God can forgive you. David prayed when he sinned. Psalm 51:1 (To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David when Nathan the prophet went to him after he had gone to Bathsheba.) Have mercy upon me, O God, according to Your lovingkindness; according to the multitude of Your tender mercies, blot out my transgressions. 2 Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin. 3 For I acknowledge my transgressions and my sin is always before me. 4 Against You, You only, have I sinned, and done this evil in Your sight—that You may be found just when You speak, and blameless when You judge. 5 Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin, my mother conceived me. 6 Behold, You desire truth in the inward parts, and in the hidden part, You will make me to know wisdom. 7 Purge me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. 8 Make me hear joy and gladness, that the bones You have broken may rejoice. 9 Hide Your face from my sins and blot out all my iniquities. 10 Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. 11 Do not cast me away from Your presence, and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. 12 Restore to me the joy of Your salvation and uphold me by Your generous Spirit. 13 Then I will teach transgressors Your ways, and sinners will be converted to You. 14 Deliver me from the guilt of bloodshed, O God, The God of my salvation, and my tongue will sing aloud of Your righteousness. 15 O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth will show forth Your praise. 16 For You do not desire sacrifice, or else I would give it; You do not delight in burnt offering. 17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, a broken and a contrite heart—these, O God, You will not despise. 18 Do good in Your good pleasure to Zion; build the walls of Jerusalem. 19 Then You will be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness, with burnt offering and whole burnt offering; then they will offer bulls on Your altar. Only through confession can you receive reconciliation with God. 1 John 2:1 My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. If anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the Righteous. 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (NKJV) Are you trying to justify your actions without confession? Confess your sin before God and let Him cleanse you and wipe away your transgressions. Let’s pray: Father, I am a sinner. Every day I do something that displeases You. I confess my sin that separates me from You. Wash me in Your Son’s blood and cleanse me of every wrongdoing. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. Yes, we should pray to God for the forgiveness of any sins that we do during our life here. Jesus Christ told us that some sins, though, cannot be forgiven. "And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come." From Saint Matthew's gospel, chapter 12, verse 32. This interesting verse implies that there might be some sins that can still be forgiven in the next world to come, but not those made against the Holy Spirit. The verse is used by the Catholic Church to justify their idea of a Purgatory, existing in the next world too.

It's the Holy Spirit who draws you to Jesus. You sin against Him by denying Jesus as your Savior AFTER you already accepted Jesus as Savior and Lord. Doing this is an unforgivable sin to the Father. There's nothing you can do to receive forgiveness. Every other sin can be forgiven. It's interesting that the Catholic church uses this verse to justify Purgatory. Have a blessed day.

@just4him Yes, to be drawn to Jesus by the power of the Holy Spirit, and then to reject this drawing and turn one's back on Jesus, is certainly a wilful form of sin, for which there can be no excuse for our doing that. Sins committed in ignorance can be forgiven.
