Holidays are a Playground for Thieves

I was reading an article about what we should and shouldn't carry on our phones nowadays. It used to be that we were sure to carry our wallets with some cash, a picture ID, insurance card, credit cards, pics of the kids, and maybe a spare check. Nowadays do we even own a wallet? Isn't that stuff stored on your phone now? Today we all worry about identity theft and holdups. I for one do not carry lists of my passwords nor do I have a list of them on the cloud. I do have them listed in a secure place and know most by heart. I will not pay for a site to hold them for me. I think that is just asking for trouble.
The main thing I do not use to secure my phone or computer is my fingerprint. If someone wanted to get into your cell or computer they could just knock you out and use your fingerprint to open whatever they wanted. Whoever thought that one up was a real stooge. The same goes for face recognition.
Be smart about personal items like personal photos, and documents. Use a device only you have access to. Also, be sure your online bank passwords are strong and unique. Change them often.
If you have your home or work addresses stored on Google Maps you might want to use a code name.
Sure you want these things to be convenient but not convenient for hackers or other thieves.

That is true that the dark of celebrating the holidays is the horror stories of crooks running in the streets.

I still carry a wallet and don't have a smartphone. Thanks for all the tips. Hope you have a good day. P. S. I love Marvin the Martian.

It's important to have strong passwords. I have been learning how to create them.

I don't either. I do not believe in storing my personal stuff on something like that. I have my passwords where I can get to them--hard copy. Don't know what you mean by 'my agenda'.

@celticeagle An "agenda" here in Europe is a "personal organizer" with tabs so you can divide your notes in alphabetical order.
