I got a phone call just a few minutes ago from my brother's ex-girlfriend, who I still happen to be friends with. She wanted to know if I wanted to go out for coffee/brunch/something in honor of my birthday, and I said of course. Usually I miss her call and listen to her message and then call her and wind up talking to her voice mail...so my actually catching her when she called was something of a miracle. I don't recall whether we're supposed to go out Friday or Saturday (Saturday being my actual birthday), but I told her either was fine. It will be nice to see her either way.
