I've been busy again for the most part

I've got a little time today to be here because it's raining right now so, we're not cleaning any windows. We've been trying to get as many harder jobs done before we start to get frost or snow on the ground when though sometimes we've been busy until Christmas or after. I want to do a bid a little later after the rain stops and we might drive around a bit looking for a scene we can take a picture of for the cover of a murder mystery that my husband wrote and I'm proof reading.
I'm also going to spend some solid time trying to get his website ready for when his book is published in Amazon. I have books from Lori Culwell about building your own website, publishing your own books and marketing. She's also the one that teaches how to get started on low content publishing. (Other than learning from her I'm not affiliated with her in any way).
I've figured out the basic part of the contact and about me pages but I'm still trying to learn how to replace the main picture on the home page. When I put in a different image initially it put it into a separate container from the text rather than the text on top of the picture which I was trying to do.
I'm also wanting to begin some journals for Christmas. A gal where I work put in a request for the image. She'd like one with pine trees on the cover.
My author page just got approved. I'm considering changing the name to my name rather than using a pen name but, I'm not sure they'll let me change it. I also have to figure out how to get the rest of my books to show up there.
And I work later today at my cashier job. Tomorrow we're doing a window job for someone we've done for years. Maybe I can find a pic I took of the back windows so you can see why we love the job so much-not.
I forgot I also have to send out some sympathy cards which I should do today and I'd like to send out some gifts as well. I need to include a letter with two of them. (Edit: for these done and mailed).

I won't get that all done especially if I continue to try to figure out why I can't access the photo I want to post here. I did just find it but I'm not sure I'll find it when editing my post. If I can't access it that will be the first time this has ever happened.

I should have more time to get things done once I retire but my husband has been promising people the book will be published this month so I do have to figure that out soon.

@LadyDuck That's for sure. I'm in charge of building his website and proofing his book. I then might have to teach him how to design his cover and interior. That might take a bit because along with doing a paperback and hardcover he'll be doing an ebook. I've never put together an ebook before.

You are busy. I want to finish my book and some shorts that I have in the works. Self-publishing sounds like an interesting way to go.

@MarshaMusselman .......I don't use Amazon. I may look for videos on YouTube on the subject.

You can upload to kdp for print on demand via Amazon. Kdp does paperback, hardcover and Kindle. The only thing is your have to design the covers for each and upload everything together. I'm sure there are videos explaining how to do all that.
I've learned how to do paperwork and hardcover and once we're ready to publish my husband's book I'll learn the ebook format as well.

@celticeagle there are other design programs your can use to put together a cover and interior but most cost a pretty penny. Kdp is free to use for publishing and they do let your buy author copies at cost but you'd have to find your own places to sell them.

@MarshaMusselman I hope the rain ends soon for you. It's bright and sunny here...
The only things I've done today are eat breakfast and go to bed. (I had to get up for a pee break so I'm checking in on myLot before going back to sleep again.)

@DaddyEvil Does that mean you didn't sleep well last night? Two nights ago I only got about three hours of solid sleep. I was surprised that I wasn't dragging later in the day.

It's still raining so, we might do the bid and pics on Fri instead. I did two more chapters on the proofreading and also did a story he wrote that we hope to give those that leave their email on his website.
I also had breakfast and deleted the messages on the answering machine but not much else yet.

My husband isn't very patient. He was hoping the book would be ready by today. He's been telling everyone that it'll be available for purchase this month but he never should have promised that. Once I'm done proofing it, hell need to work on the description for the back cover.
I'm sure he won't be working on that book non-stop either.

@JudyEv since we found a place that published I think he thought it would be easy to get it done. I think it makes more sense not to have a lot of mistakes before it gets published.

Work will take too much of my day but, I did read two more chapters in hubby's book and made an appt and had some breakfast. I need to get to my computer and work on the cards and maybe the letter I want to include with the gifts.

All that you're doing for getting your hubbys book published and the work on your journals certainly sounds like it's keeping you busy but a good kind of busy.

Yes, some of it's a fun busy. The website is a bit frustrating. I need a large block of time to work on that.

I'm glad you got your author page up and working. I have a new website, but I might change it as I can't get comments from anyone or figure out how to link it so people can see it.
I hope you find a good picture for your husband's book cover.
