Medical Update 11-9-2023

Another day spent at the hospital getting poked and prodded, another night at the hotel. Thankfully while I was in the ER getting my gallbladder ultrasounded I got paid for an article I wrote this week, so that paid for our room tonight, and gas to get to the house and take care of a few things, and then get back to the hotel. We hung out with Rebel for about an hour before coming back out to Niceville. It's closer to the doctor for in the morning. Hopefully tomorrow they will finally schedule my surgery- if they can get internet to agree to it- if not I will have to bust butt writing freelance articles so I can pay out of pocket for it. I am still fighting that battle. Anyway, I got blood and urine tests done today- then IV fluids, antibiotics and some stuff to take care of nausea. The doctor said I have an impressive amount of gallstones. Not sure if that is good or bad. But there's some wall thickening. So I have to call some more surgeons tomorrow. AGAIN. You'd think at this point they would take it out so they can be done dealing with me. But nope, so they have a few different people calling me tomorrow who are supposed to be able to help. But I am not holding my breath. Anyhoo. So still in pain, still dizzy and vomiting and all that stuff. So good vibes, prayers, all that good stuff. Please send them my way.

Because it isn't considered a emergency. BUT they should!

@RebeccasFarm And today they are like. It's considered chronic because you have been to the ER for more than 3 times for it. And I told them if you';d take the sucker out, it wouldnt be chronic anymore.

I hope the insurance approves and it gets paid for so you do not have to come up with the money to pay for it yourself. Sending prayers your way

I will absolutely be praying, April. I don't understand why they don't go ahead and take your gallbladder out.

Because it isn't an emergency. It is still considered a elective surgery. Even though I have a double digit amount of gallstones- which is painful. I cant enjoy any food. IT's annoying. Thank you for your prayers.

As always my best wishes are going out to you.i had the surgery several years ago and it was easy. I spent one night in the hospital and was feeling fine in a few days. Hope your surgery goes as well. I’ve had so many surgeries they’re almost common place to me. A couple of surgeries haven’t been so easy.

@thislittlepennyearns Yes, I understand I had to wait for my pancreas surgery and I was so sick while waiting. With my gall bladder surgery they did it quick and that helped.

@RubyHawk I wish they would say mine was an emergency and take it out. The ER doctor yesterday told me that if he were me, he'd eat a whole bucket of KFC then go to the ER and tell them it was really hurting. Because the grease would cause a horrible gallbladder attack.

I have had my tonsils out and adenoids, a live birth and a still birth. And meningitis, so I am no stranger to hospital stays. BUT i wish they would just take it.

Hope your surgery went well. I had the same a few years ago with no issues. Thoughts are with you.

It's not that I think there are going to be issues with the surgery. We can't find a surgeon that takes our insurance. And its a 5000-8000 surgery out of pocket.

@thislittlepennyearns Now I get it. Such a rip off to charge so much for these procedures and surgeries. And we should not have to shop around with our insurance. I wish you luck with getting it done soon.

I hope people with good insurance really appreciate what they have.

I hope so too. I thought state insurance was supposed to be decent. I just left messages for seven different doctors. I hope at least one of them calls back. I'm so annoyed and frustrated.

Like you, I can't understand why they don't just take out your gallbladder. Sending heaps of prayer and positive vibes. You seem to be so upbeat most of the time but it can't be easy.

I try to stay upbeat. Because as they say- if I wasn't laughing I would be crying. The night before last was a rough night.
